I have worked with watercolours for quite some time and produce miniature Cape landscapes that remain popular, especially as mementos for visitors to South Africa.

Then in 2006, I discovered an additional avenue for my understanding of watercolours, especially the colour mixing and matching, and fine brushwork. This new interest, I have to admit, has become my addiction and the sheer joy I get from the feedback I receive is extremely gratifying. Let me tell you more.

While doing some research on the internet, I stumbled upon a photo of what was called a "reborn baby doll". This lifelike image took my breath away, and left me no choice. I immediately ordered a full doll kit that came complete with all the necessary paints and tools.

I was hooked, and since then, the passion has not subsided, only grown.

Producing these life-like images of these little people is an intricate task and one that needs my full respect and understanding of the real little treasures. From all the comments and amazed reactions I receive, I believe I portray their moods, behaviour and baby habits accurately. The desire of visitors to my stall, from small child to adult, is clearly to reach out and hold my Pat-a-cake dolls - and that says it all. Come and see for yourself.
