I am a qualified graphic and ceramic designer. In my younger days my wife and I ran Kumkani Potteries, a factory in King William's Town in die Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
In the early 1900's we moved to Cape Town, where I managed a training centre for unemployed people in Khayelitsha for 10 years.
In 2004 we went to Madagascar for 5 years. When we returned to SA, I picked up my creative skills and designed various articles in different media.
I enjoy working in clay, material, mixed media and my latest hobby is leather. This was sparked off by a piece of nappa leather in my sister's house. It was beautifully crafted in different colours and rose designs and gave me the inspiration to make a waistcoat and leather bags.
Each article is unique and cannot be repeated.
I do make similar articles on request, but each one is a unique artwork in its own right.
