I was born with a love for art. This is little wonder with artist Hugo Naude, well know for his artworks depicting flowering fields in Namaqualand, and Aunt Hettie Naude, who won a scholarship to study art in Paris, in the family. My mother and four sisters also derive an income from art.

Add to this my love of nature and the inspiration that surrounded me while I was growing up in Zimbabwe, and it seemed natural that I would choose the easel to an office, and turn my hand to portraying the intricacies of the grand canvas of nature that we enjoy here in Africa.
I choose to use colour pencils and watercolours as my media as they allow me to capture in intricate detail the wonderful tones, textures and patterns that clothe our wildlife. My main subjects are wildlife including birds. I portray them in their natural environments but I use watercolours for the backgrounds to create soft but underlining settings that do not compete with but add life to the featured animals or birds.

I was a founder member of the Helderberg region Art Route and am a permanent member of the Country Craft Market and the Western Cape Watercolour Group. I have held exhibitions in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Somerset-West, Stellenbosch and Dartmouth in Canada, the well-known Spier Wine Estate and the V & A Waterfront.
My pictures have found their way to a calendar of endangered wildlife, and designs for writing paper, wrapping paper and cards, all produced by a leading stationery supplier in South Africa. I am happy to do such commissions.
